Vehicle Servicing

We offer complete car servicing using manufacturer-approved parts and methods.

As a trusted family-run garage in Polegate, they deliver high-quality work and excellent aftercare.

Regular servicing provides major long-term benefits, including:

• Lower repair costs
• Fewer breakdowns
• Minimised downtime
• Improved fuel economy
• Increased safety
• Extended vehicle lifespan

Timing Belts

• Timing belts and chains control engine valve timing for proper fuel combustion and compression.
• On interference engines (common in diesels), a snapped or misaligned belt can cause severe engine damage requiring costly rebuilds.
• It’s vital to replace timing belts/chains at manufacturer-recommended intervals to prevent failure.
• Belt replacement involves precise synchronisation of valve and piston positions and correct tension adjustment to avoid stress on engine bearings.
• Fluids like oil, coolant, and anti-freeze can degrade the timing belt material over time, especially under high heat, shortening its lifespan.

Exhaust Repairs

• TD Auto Repairs offers honest and affordable exhaust repairs in Polegate, replacing only the necessary parts, whether it’s a small fix or a full system replacement.
• An extensive stock of exhausts available for all vehicle types, with a full fitting service provided.
• Common signs of issues include your car suddenly sounding louder; this could indicate a leak caused by corrosion
• Small exhaust leaks might not affect sound but can lead to reduced fuel efficiency; a professional inspection is advised.
• Catalytic converters are critical for emissions control. Failure can result in emissions test failure, poor fuel economy, and long-term damage to the exhaust system.

Brake Repairs

• Brake checks are available anytime, including while you wait.
• Large stock of brake pads, discs, and shoes often fitted during tyre appointments.
• Our experienced, fully trained team works on all makes and models with satisfaction guaranteed.
• If your brakes feel spongy or pulsate, it’s better to get them checked early.

Brake checks during servicing include: Digital gauge measurements of pads, discs, and drums. Visual inspection of the brake fluid system for leaks or corrosion. Brake fluid boiling point test to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications.

Tyres & Fitting

We stock a wide selection of tyres in Polegate, from affordable budget options to top-tier brands like Dunlop, Goodyear, Michelin, and more.

Next-day supply is available if a specific tyre isn’t in stock

Services include:

• Wheel alignment: Misalignment affects tyre wear, performance, and fuel economy.
• Puncture repair: Quick diagnostics to assess if a flat tyre can be safely repaired or needs replacement.
• Suspension checks and repairs: Ensures stable tyre contact with the road, especially crucial in wet conditions and for safe steering.

Electrical Repairs

• Dashboard warning lights indicate a fault has been detected by the vehicle’s onboard diagnostics.
• We use advanced diagnostic tools to pinpoint issues in modern cars and vans.
• Warning lights can be triggered by anything from a loose fuel cap to serious engine or braking system issues.
• Ignoring warning lights can lead to engine damage, safety risks, or costly repairs.
• We always recommend getting the issue professionally diagnosed as soon as possible to stay safe and avoid bigger problems.

Carbon Cleaning

Our hydrogen-powered carbon cleaning removes up to 85% of carbon deposits from engines, and works on everything from small tools to large truck engines.

• Quick process: Takes just 30–90 minutes to restore engine performance.
• How it works: Pulsed hydrogen is introduced through the air intake; heat triggers a chemical reaction that burns off and disintegrates carbon build-up.
• Recommended annually (or every 9,000 km) as a preventative service to avoid expensive engine part replacements.
• Benefits include improved engine efficiency, reduced emissions, smoother performance, and long-term cost savings.
• Post-clean recommendation: A 25–30 minute drive in low gear (above 3000 rpm) helps clear out any final carbon residue.
